Meet the Team

Daniel Cove

Director

Daniel founded the company as a partner in 2012. He has over 20 years experience working with Property Funds, Developers and end users, providing design advise on their existing assets and potential investments. During this time he has led projects on commercial, mixed use and residential developments in London and the South East.

Outside of the office, Daniel has previously tutored at Bath University and is a keen Brompton cyclist and avid scarf-wearer.

Achille Tortini

Associate Architect

Achille studied at Milan Polytechnic University and Lisbon School of Architecture. His graduation project examined revitalising the Baixa area in the centre of Lisbon by renovating a series of existing buildings to create a pedestrian east-west connection between the areas of Chiado and Alfama/Mouraria.

His past experience includes working on internationally recognised schemes of medium to large scale at Wilkinson Eyre Architects in London and MAD Architects in Beijing. During his time at Cove Burgess he led the construction of ‘The Rox’ in Brighton, a large mixed use scheme and Arthur Stanley House, a ten unit residential scheme in London Fitzrovia. He is currently working on a series of residential projects in London. He is particularly focused on the technical aspects of construction and enjoys creating bespoke solutions that translate complex design ideas into finished architecture.

Achille is an invited tutor at London Metropolitan University first year course. He is a keen runner and football player, having won the title of Most Valuable Player of the Architecture Football League 2019 season.

Ed O’Neill

Architect

Ed joined Cove Burgess Architects in 2022 having previously worked for EJ Studio, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Loyn + Co Architects. He studied for his RIBA Part I and II at the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff, simultaneously pursuing his interests in craft and urban design at the same time. Prior to embarking on a career in Architecture, Ed obtained a degree in Architectural Engineering during which time he spent a year working for the concrete sub-contractor Byrne Bros. He gained valuable experience as an assistant site engineer working on the Stirling Prize winning Bloomberg Headquarter’s in London.

Ed has recently completed his Part III studies and is now looking forward to the challenge of developing his skills further as a fully qualified Architect whilst taking a well-earned break from academic pursuits.

Cara Marett

Architectural Assistant

Cara completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Greenwich in 2019. Set at the Tilbury docks in Essex her third year project investigated the ephemeral qualities of the ever changing tide of the river Thames, resulting in an immersive Gallery experience.

Cara joined the practice at the start of 2021 and during her time here she has worked on many of our residential projects across different stages. The majority of these included taking Rosemont Road, an 11 unit scheme, through planning and working on the Tender stage of East Acton Lane, a 38 unit scheme.

Outside of the office Cara enjoys going for a run in the fresh air around Wimbledon common and practising her film photography.
